Dinosaurs, the immersive experience — a spectacular journey into prehistory
From 10 December 2025, the Atelier des Lumières takes you 66 million years back in time with “Dinosaurs, the immersive experience”, a digital creation inspired by the documentary series Planète Préhistorique. Across 1,500 m² of 360° projections, walls, floors and ceilings come alive to recreate jungles, canyons and oceans populated by T-Rex, pterosaurs and mosasaurs. The result: an ultra-visual outing that’s both spectacular and educational, perfect for families (and a great plan when it’s cold outside).
From the Hôtel R de Paris (Paris 9), the Atelier des Lumières is easy to reach by public transport: ideal for an evening activity or a “culture + relaxation” plan.
A 360° immersion in prehistoric ecosystems
The exhibition follows a journey through changing settings: lush jungle, deserts, canyons, forests, then a dive into mysterious oceans. Transitions are smooth, giving you the feeling of “travelling” alongside the species—watching how they live, move and evolve. Even if you’re not a specialist, it works because it’s immediate: light, motion, scale and sound.
T-Rex, pterosaurs and mosasaurs — prehistoric giants in all their glory
The heart of the show is, of course, the dinosaurs: an impressive Tyrannosaurus rex, pterosaurs soaring overhead, and mosasaurs gliding through the depths. The exhibition also varies the emotions: hunting scenes, sweeping vistas, and even more tender moments (like hatching) that children love.
An experience for the whole family — science and spectacle combined
This format is ideal if you want culture “without the effort”: no need to read labels for an hour to enjoy it. Kids get the wow factor; adults enjoy an aesthetic immersion and an accessible narrative. From Hôtel R de Paris, allow around 20 minutes by public transport. A simple route is to take metro line 9 (towards Mairie de Montreuil) to Voltaire, then walk a few minutes to 38 rue Saint-Maur (Paris 11).
