Opening to the public: from 7 p.m. on the Champs-Élysées (Étoile → Concorde area). Countdown & Fireworks: around midnight, after a light show and the countdown at the Arc de Triomphe. Access & Perimeter on 12/31

Pedestrian access to the avenue is controlled and free. Checkpoints with visual bag inspections are in place; travel light and avoid bulky items. Metro & RER on the night of December 31st → 1st

Early station closures around the avenue are announced to ease congestion: Champs-Élysées – Clemenceau and Franklin D. Roosevelt from 6 pm; Concorde and Tuileries from 8 pm (December 31, 2025). Where to stand for the best view

  • Arc de Triomphe (near the Arc de Triomphe): frontal view of the Arc and the sky; Early arrival recommended.
  • George V → Franklin D. Roosevelt segment: clear view of the Arc de Triomphe, side areas to get away from the crowds.
  • Towards Concorde: more space but a more distant view; check the opening of the roads as you go.
