When winter falls on Paris, the Jardin des Plantes transforms into a luminous stage. The 2025-2026 edition of En voie d’illumination explores natural light phenomena – from the bioluminescence of the seabed to mineral sparkles – in an immersive experience designed to amaze visitors of all ages. From the Hôtel R de Paris, a Parisian boutique hotel just steps from Saint-Lazare, it's the perfect getaway to extend the holiday spirit.

Context and Event Details

This 7th edition, entitled “Lights of Nature”, offers a stroll from 6 pm to 10 pm among animated sculptures, sounds, and light displays. Conceived as an educational and poetic journey, the walk blends science and fantasy to reveal the luminous secrets of plants, animals, minerals, and the sky. Visitors come for the emotion and wonder, but also to learn in a different way, in a decidedly convivial "winter in Paris" atmosphere. The scenography is explored outdoors, at your own pace. Evening time slots limit visitor numbers, and the magic begins as soon as you enter: giant silhouettes, colorful halos, transparent effects… The whole experience creates a timeless interlude, ideal before or after dinner, and perfectly suited to families and couples alike, offering a high-end stay imbued with authentic Parisian charm.

      Visit Tips from our Concierge

Aim for the first time slots (6 pm) on weekdays for a more relaxed experience. The Christmas holidays are very popular: book your dated tickets in advance. After your visit, our team recommends an early dinner, then returning to the hotel for a moment of tranquility in the bar's cozy atmosphere, or a herbal tea in the lounge.

Other Light Trails During the Same Period

To extend the magic, combine your evening with another seasonal light trail (Saint-Cloud, Parc Floral, Jardin d’Acclimatation, depending on the dates).
