From Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October 2026, the nave of the Grand Palais is given over to the art market. Art Basel Paris holds its fifth edition there, with 206 galleries announced from 41 countries and territories. Three days open to the public, preceded by days reserved for professionals and collectors, in an October week when four art fairs share the city.

Fifth Edition, First Under the Direction of Karim Crippa

This is the first edition directed by Karim Crippa. The selection is organized into three sectors, which also offer a guide to a well-planned visit:

  • Galeries: the backbone of the fair, featuring established names.
  • Emergence: young galleries and emerging artists.
  • Premise: a sector designed as a dialogue between historical pieces and contemporary creation.

Of the 206 galleries announced, 65 are based in France: the fair keeps a clear Parisian anchor while bringing together a largely international lineup, which explains the pressure this week places on the city every year.

Dates, Tickets and Access: What We Know So Far

The fair is held at the Grand Palais, 3 avenue du Général Eisenhower, in the 8th arrondissement. The renovated building has several entrances, and different street numbers circulate depending on the source: it is best to follow the one shown on your ticket.

  • Public days: Friday 23, Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October 2026.
  • Before opening: 20, 21 and 22 October are announced as restricted access, an invitation-only preview followed by preview days for professionals and collectors. This breakdown, like the day-by-day hours, was not yet detailed on the official website in mid-August 2026: worth checking before planning a trip.
  • Tickets: online on the official website, which distinguishes between general admission and premium passes.
  • Prices: the 2026 pricing had not been published at the time of writing. The prices circulating online come from the 2025 edition and do not apply to this one; only the official ticketing site is authoritative.
  • Access: metro Champs-Élysées-Clemenceau (lines 1 and 13) or Franklin D. Roosevelt (lines 1 and 9), RER C station Invalides.

Three Other Fairs the Same Week

Art Basel does not have Paris to itself. Three satellite fairs announce overlapping dates, in three different venues:

  • Asia Now, devoted to the contemporary Asian scene, for its 12th edition, announced from 20 to 24 October at the Monnaie de Paris.
  • Design Miami Paris, fourth edition, announced from 20 to 25 October at the Hôtel de Maisons.
  • Paris Internationale, 12th edition, with a preview on 20 October then an opening from 21 to 25 October, extended online until 1 November.

These three schedules come from organizers' announcements and remain subject to confirmation. The principle itself is certain: between 20 and 25 October, four art fairs run in parallel, with the same visitors moving from one to another.

Line 13, No Change, from the 9th

From 41 rue de Clichy, the Place de Clichy station (lines 2 and 13) is a five-minute walk. Line 13 then runs south to Champs-Élysées-Clemenceau with no change of train, and the entrance to the Grand Palais is a few minutes' walk from there: allow about 25 to 30 minutes door to door, a little more at peak times.

Book Your Room Before Your Ticket

Four simultaneous fairs and visitors from 41 countries: the week of 20 to 25 October is one of the busiest of the autumn for Parisian hotels. The pattern is the same one seen during September's Paris Fashion Week: availability tightens first, prices follow.

Hôtel R de Paris is a 40-room, 4-star boutique hotel at 41 rue de Clichy in the 9th arrondissement, where international guests feel at home year-round. Three metro stations surround the address: Place de Clichy, Liège and Trinité-d'Estienne d'Orves. Breakfast is served from 7:30am to 10am, in time to head out before the doors open, and the Bar Lounge welcomes guests from 6pm to midnight, which suits opening-night evenings well. The department stores on boulevard Haussmann are 10 to 15 minutes on foot if the day continues with some shopping.
