Ice returns to the glass roof of the Grand Palais for the festive season. The Grand Palais des Glaces, the giant ice rink set up in the Nef in Paris's 8th arrondissement, is back from Sunday 13 December 2026 to Wednesday 6 January 2027, a stretch that spans Christmas and the turn of the year. The dates and session times are announced by the organiser; prices are to be confirmed when ticketing opens in mid-October.

If you picture your year-end holidays in Paris around this rink, the Nef can be reached from rue de Clichy on a single metro line. To get a feel for the atmosphere, our article on the 2025-2026 edition is still online; its prices and hours applied to last winter and should not be reused as they stand.

The essentials to note before ticketing opens

  • Dates: from Sunday 13 December 2026 to Wednesday 6 January 2027.
  • Venue: the Nef of the Grand Palais, Paris 8th; the exact entrance for this edition is still to be confirmed by the organiser.
  • Tickets: online, on the official Grand Palais des Glaces website, opening announced for mid-October (exact day not communicated); prices to be confirmed at opening. Three sessions are announced: morning 10am to 1pm, afternoon 2pm to 7pm and late session 8pm to 1am, with closing at 6pm on 24 and 31 December; gloves are compulsory on the ice.
  • Metro: Champs-Élysées-Clemenceau (lines 1 and 13).

Getting to the Grand Palais from rue de Clichy

From 41 rue de Clichy, board line 13 at Place de Clichy or Liège, then stay on until Champs-Élysées-Clemenceau, with no change: from Liège, Saint-Lazare and Miromesnil are the only stops in between. The exit on avenue du Général Eisenhower leads out at the foot of the monument. On festive evenings, checking traffic conditions before you set off avoids unpleasant surprises.

Back to the warmth of the 9th

Staying in the 9th means line 13 at Place de Clichy or Liège and Saint-Lazare station 7 minutes away on foot; the Galeries Lafayette and Printemps department stores on boulevard Haussmann are 10-15 minutes away on foot, and the Casino de Paris is opposite the hotel. To get your bearings, see the hotel's neighbourhood.

At Hôtel R de Paris, the after-skate unfolds on site: the sauna and hammam, by reservation from 8 am to 8 pm, to ease tired legs; the Bar Lounge, reserved for guests from 6 pm to midnight, for a last drink. In our rooms, the heating is adjustable individually, a detail that counts when you come back from a December evening.

As the rink dates are announced, you can book your stay in Paris right now, directly on our website, and buy your tickets once ticketing opens.
