There is one thing early autumn does better than any other season: it makes Paris feel more alive than ever. The theatres reopen, concert halls restart their programmes, the major musicals return to the bill, and international artists stop in Paris at the beginning of their tours. And most of what matters on the Paris live scene happens in the 9th arrondissement or right on its doorstep — just a few minutes on foot or by metro from Hôtel R de Paris.

The major venues just steps from the hotel

The 9th arrondissement is the district of legendary stages. Within a 15-minute walk of the hotel, you will find a concentration of venues that is almost unmatched in Europe:

  • The Olympia (28 boulevard des Capucines, 9th) — opened in 1893, 2,000 seats, a temple of French chanson and international live music. Édith Piaf, Jacques Brel, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones all performed here. The autumn programme mixes French singers, international rock acts and special nights. Ghinzu is due for a much-awaited concert here in October 2026.
  • Folies Bergère (32 rue Richer, 9th) — 1,678 seats, one of Paris’s most beautiful Art Deco venues, listed for its historic façade. The autumn 2026 season is especially packed: Sara Correia in September, Voyou with a big band in October, Michèle Laroque and Kad Merad in L'Âge Bête from 7 to 24 October, plus stand-up and music programming through December.
  • Théâtre Mogador (25 rue Mogador, 9th) — 1,618 seats, a Parisian temple of musical theatre. The Lion King has been running here since 2023; check the official website for the new autumn season.
  • La Cigale (120 boulevard de Rochechouart, 18th, an 8-minute walk away) — a human-scale concert hall (2,000 seats) and a benchmark venue for rock, electro and emerging French artists. Ideal for more intimate nights with tomorrow’s headliners.
  • Casino de Paris (16 rue de Clichy, 9th — on the same street as the hotel, 5 minutes away) — the musical Chicago with Shy’m runs until May 2026; the autumn programme is still to be confirmed.

Why the hotel changes everything

Going to a concert or a show is often a question of logistics: how to get back to the hotel late at night, where to eat beforehand, how to recover if the performance ends late. From the 9th arrondissement, those questions largely disappear.

The Olympia is a 15-minute walk away. Folies Bergère is 12 minutes. Mogador is 10 minutes. La Cigale is 8 minutes. Casino de Paris is 5 minutes away — on the very same street as the hotel. After the show, you simply walk back whenever you like. No waiting for a taxi at midnight, no last metro to keep an eye on. It is one of the most concrete advantages of staying in the 9th arrondissement.

And before the show? The neighbourhood offers dozens of places for dinner or drinks: terraces on rue des Martyrs, wine bars in SoPi, restaurants along rue de Clichy. Our restaurants and bars guide lists the best addresses around the hotel, with distances and booking details.

Book your stay at the same time as your tickets

The golden rule for autumn in Paris is simple: as soon as a concert or show is confirmed, book the hotel at the same time. September and October are among the busiest months of the year in Paris — trade fairs, Fashion Week, Heritage Days — and centrally located rooms go quickly. Our early booking offer helps you secure your stay at the best rate, with flexibility.

To explore other venues and stages in the area, our guide to Paris venues gathers the addresses worth knowing, from intimate gigs to major productions.
