It is one of those small practical challenges every Paris traveller knows: the plane lands at 9 am, but check-in is only at 3 pm. Or, on the way back, your flight is at 9 pm while check-out is at noon. In both cases, the question is the same — what should you do with your luggage during those in-between hours? Here are the main options, from the simplest to the most practical.

The hotel luggage room: the obvious choice for our guests

You leave your belongings at reception, head out to enjoy Paris hands-free, and collect your bags later whenever it suits you during the day.

It is the smoothest option — no extra journey, no app fee, no strict pickup window. Reception is accessible during the hotel’s opening hours, and your luggage is stored safely in a dedicated area. Lockers at Paris train stations

If you are passing through a Paris station, SNCF lockers let you leave your luggage for a few hours or a few days. They are available at the main stations:

  • Saint-Lazare station — 8 minutes on foot from the hotel: lockers available (price depends on bag size, to be checked on sncf.com)
  • Gare du Nord, Gare de Lyon, Gare Montparnasse — reachable by metro from the hotel

Station lockers are practical if your itinerary starts or ends at the station — less convenient if you plan to move around Paris afterwards, as you will have to go back and collect your bags.

Radical Storage and Nannybag: on-demand luggage storage apps

Two apps make it easy to find luggage drop-off points with partner businesses (hotels, shops, cafés) across the city, on demand and by the day:

These options are especially useful if you need a drop-off point in a specific area (near a trade fair, a museum or an airport), or if you are not yet — or no longer — staying in a hotel. Prices usually start at around €6–8 per bag per day.

Airport lockers: best avoided if you still have time

Both Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports offer luggage storage — useful if you are going directly to or from the airport. But if you are spending the day in the city before leaving, it is usually more convenient to leave your bags in town (hotel, station locker or app) instead of heading back to the airport earlier than necessary.

The best reflex: let the hotel know in advance
