The 9th arrondissement is one of the neighbourhoods best served by Le Fooding, the independent gastronomic guide marking its 25th anniversary with its France 2026 edition. Between Pigalle, Notre-Dame-de-Lorette and Rue des Martyrs, the selection brings together award-winning bistros, a chef-driven table with Mediterranean accents and a soba counter that won the Fooding's heart. Here are the addresses worth remembering, with their prices, opening hours and the walk to reach them from Rue de Clichy.
Le Fooding 2026, in brief
For its 25th anniversary, Le Fooding unveiled its France 2026 guide in autumn 2025: around 250 new addresses (restaurants, bars, wine cellars, shops) and an awards list spread across twelve categories, presented at an evening event at Paris City Hall in mid-November 2025. The print guide was available for pre-order until 19 November 2025. If the national awards list interests you, we covered it in detail in our article on the Fooding 2026 winners in Paris and the Île-de-France region. Here, we're staying in the 9th, one address at a time.
Le Pantruche, Pigalle's award-winning bistro
Just steps from Place Pigalle, Le Pantruche is chef Franck Baranger's bistro, recognised on the Fooding's awards list (best bistro) and marked Trop bon. Expect precise seasonal cooking in a bistro setting with a long counter. Budget €23 for lunch, €43 to €46 in the evening. Open Monday to Friday (12:30pm to 2pm and 7:30pm to 9:30pm), closed Saturday and Sunday. Booking strongly advised several days ahead: 3 rue Victor Massé, tel. +33 1 48 78 55 60. From the hotel, allow about fifteen to twenty minutes on foot, or a short ride on line 2 to Pigalle station.
Caillebotte, the same team on the Saint-Georges side
Also from Franck Baranger, Caillebotte plays a lighter tune: fresh, seasonal produce and a clean, Scandinavian-inspired décor. The address also holds a Bib Gourmand in the 2026 Michelin guide. Lunch menu €23, dinner €43, service from 12:30pm to 9:30pm, closed Sunday. It's the closest table in the selection to the hotel: 8 rue Hippolyte-Lebas, about ten minutes on foot down Rue Notre-Dame-de-Lorette.
Pétrelle, chef-driven cooking near Anvers
Pétrelle serves chef-driven cuisine with Mediterranean accents, signed by chef Lucie Boursier-Mougenot, with a wine cellar of over 300 references. Lunch menu €28, four-course dinner menu €72 (three-glass wine pairing €34). Open Wednesday to Sunday, booking directly with the restaurant: 34 rue Pétrelle, tel. +33 1 42 82 11 02. About fifteen to twenty minutes on foot from the hotel, or by metro towards Anvers.
Abri Soba, Japanese soba noodles on Rue Saulnier
For something different, Abri Soba is a Japanese counter specialising in soba noodles, one of the Fooding's favourites. Soba bowls from €9 to €17, small plates from €4 to €14 and desserts around €6, with a bill between €16 and €35 depending on appetite. Open Tuesday to Saturday (12pm to 2pm and 7pm to 10:30pm), closed Sunday and Monday. One thing to know: the restaurant doesn't take bookings, so you wait on the spot. Best to arrive right at opening, at noon or 7pm. Address: 10 rue Saulnier, near Cadet metro station, about twenty minutes on foot from the hotel.
Other 9th-arrondissement tables worth exploring
Le Fooding's search engine lists other addresses in the area worth a detour, depending on your mood: Mantra, Minore and Brion for chef-driven cuisine, Le Savarin on the bistro side, Trouble for a wine bar doubling as a cave à manger, Scarpetta for Italian, Mensch, or Yory for Korean. Opening hours and prices vary from one place to the next: it's best to check case by case on the Fooding website before heading out. Across the whole of the 9th, prices range from under €15 to over €50 per person, with most addresses falling between €16 and €50.
Planning ahead: bookings and the best time slots
The most sought-after addresses (Le Pantruche, Caillebotte, Abri Soba) are often fully booked in the evening, on weekdays as well as weekends. For Le Pantruche and Caillebotte, book several days ahead, especially at weekends. Since Abri Soba takes no bookings, weekday lunch is the simplest slot for a seat without waiting. Good news: the Pigalle - Notre-Dame-de-Lorette area, the famous SoPi (South Pigalle), concentrates most of the selection. A single walk is enough to scout several tables and line up your bookings.
Getting to these tables from Rue de Clichy
Hôtel R de Paris is located at 41 rue de Clichy, in the heart of the 9th, putting most of these addresses within 10 to 20 minutes' walk. Caillebotte is the closest; Pigalle's bistros can also be reached via line 2 from Place de Clichy (lines 2 and 13), and Gare Saint-Lazare, 7 minutes on foot, rounds out the options. To fine-tune a selection to your taste or get a hand booking a table, our reception desk and our digital concierge Conciergify are here to help.
Eating well here goes hand in hand with a great location: the 9th lets you combine exploring the neighbourhood with a fine meal without ever spending long on the metro.
