Set in the Passage des Panoramas, the oldest covered arcade in Paris, Club Cochon is a rowdy bistro entirely devoted to pork, cooked nose to tail: pig's trotter, truffled croque monsieur, head cheese salad, andouillette, and homemade blood sausage and sausages. Opened in spring 2023 by Joseph, a trained pastry chef, and Valentin, a sommelier, the spot turns into a wine bar in the evening, with a natural wine list of eighty to one hundred fifty references and a strong showing for Beaujolais. The vibe is unapologetic: people come here to drink, eat, and sing loudly, in the weathered decor of the arcade.
Why go: For generous nose-to-tail pork cooking and a fine natural wine cellar, in the unique setting of a 19th-century covered arcade.
Good to know: Open Tuesday to Saturday, lunch and dinner until midnight. Booking recommended, the place is small and fills up fast. It pairs well with a stroll through the Passage des Panoramas.

Quite possibly the most beautiful vegan table in Paris, set in a half-bohemian, half-bourgeois 1900s decor near Bonne Nouvelle. The kitchen is 100% plant-based but plays in the big leagues: mushroom croquettes with ravigote sauce, BBQ carrots, cauliflower steak, roasted and filtered vegetable broths. The dishes are designed for sharing and the flavours hold their own against any classic table. A genuine gastronomic experience, even for vegan newcomers.
Why go: A great pick for a relaxed lunch or dinner, with varied vegetarian options (often adaptable).
Good to know: If you're just coming for a drink, ask about the small plates / sharing options.

ROOF is the rooftop of the Hôtel Madame Rêve, right at the top of the former Poste du Louvre — 1,000 m2 suspended above Paris, with a spectacular view of Saint-Eustache, the Centre Pompidou and the Panthéon. Like a hanging garden in the sky, you sip signature cocktails over sharing plates with flavours from around the world. For a proper dinner, chef Benjamin Six's La Plume restaurant extends the experience, facing the Saint-Eustache church.
Why go: For a cocktail high above one of the most beautiful rooftops in central Paris, with a guaranteed panoramic view.
Good to know: A 5-star address with prices to match; booking is strongly recommended, especially in the evening and at weekends.

An authentic Vietnamese canteen in the Sentier district, run by a couple from Hanoi — Michelin Bib Gourmand. You'll eat a Northern-style pho that's lightly salted and wonderfully digestible, crispy pork nems served with the famous house-made mam sauce, and a melt-in-your-mouth braised caramelised pork (thit kho). The sourcing is impeccable, and the small dining room fills up fast — book a few days ahead.
Why go: Perfect if you want something tasty but not too heavy, for lunch or dinner.
Good to know: Pho-style soups are a safe bet when you want a complete, comforting meal.

Oxte is Mexico with a Michelin star: chef Enrique Casarrubias, awarded by the Michelin Guide, marries the flavours of his homeland — mole, corn, smoked chillies — with French produce in tasting menus of remarkable precision. Forget tacos: this is haute cuisine with Mexican accents, featuring carefully crafted food-and-wine (and mezcal) pairings in an intimate room near the Étoile. One of the most singular tables in Paris.
Why go: For a gastronomic dinner that steps well outside French convention — a Mexican Michelin star, a rare thing in Europe.
Good to know: Booking essential. Easily reached from Place de Clichy via line 2 (alight at Charles de Gaulle–Étoile).
